Kicking off his stallion career in spectacular fashion, Gr.2 QTC Cup winner Spill The Beans was represented by his first winner on Saturday, 26 October when juvenile colt Tennessee Boy defeated Molongle Drifter, another son of Spill The Beans over 1000m.
Clearing out from the remainder of the field who were close to six lengths astern, Tennessee Boy jumped away well from the barrier for jockey Wanderson D’Avila before taking up the lead, with the Magic Millions sold colt maintaining his lead throughout for an impressive victory.
Trained by Roy Chillemi, the colt showed his raw ability on debut, highlight himself as a exciting prospect going forward.
One of only two first season sires in Australia to have a winner, Spill The Beans has been represented by four individual runners so far this season with three finishing in the top two.
With 140 2yos in a position to race this season for Spill The Beans, more than any other first season sire, breeders who’ve supported the son of Snitzel in his first few years at stud have flocked back this season, clearly excited about the racing year ahead.
As Queensland-based sires have achieved more winners in the past two seasons than any other first crop sires, Spill The Beans’ progeny have hit the ground running, which could see him join previous winners Spirit Of Boom and Better Than Ready on the list.
