A big pat-on-the back for Racing Queensland for their successful Battle of the Bush series. What a great incentive for country racing, and the participants certainly embraced the series.
There were 16 qualifying races held right around the State, and the winners of each event then had to travel all the way to Doomben for the Series Final on Saturday, June 23.
Mason’s Chance, trained by Olivia Cairns in Mackay won the $100,000 event with Justin Stanley on board.
All these Battle of the Bush races were very competitive and the Final at Doomben was a great betting race.
I think this series will become very popular in country areas, and will certainly encourage growth in the industry.
