The Thoroughbred Breeders Queensland Committee applauds Racing Queensland for the establishment of the Queensland Off-The-Track Program.
It comes on the back of the Martin Inquiry into the mistreatment of retire thoroughbred and standardbred horses in Queensland and will be overseen by QRIC. Sharon Cowden will be the Chair of the Program which will have representatives from a number of industry stakeholders, including the TBQA.
The organisation will meet four times a year promote the versatility and adaptability of retired racehorses for other activities and supporting the care of former racehorses that would otherwise be left vulnerable at the end of their racing and/or breeding careers.
The TBQA looks forward to working with this new committee to ensure a brighter future for all thoroughbreds. We look forward to seeing some positive outcomes.
