We're heading into the home straight now, only two months left to win the coveted title and the competition is hotting up.
Embattle Toowoomba trainer, Ben Currie took the top spot for the 2yo Trainers in May, winning $17,300 in QTIS bonus prizemoney followed by Chris Anderson on $16,200 and two-time Premiership winner, Krystle Johnston on $15,150.
Currie's win helped him increase his lead on the 2yo ladder for the Season to $135,350. Lyle Wright and Tony Gollan keep swapping places, and this month Lyle has jumped up into second spot with $113,650 and Tony Gollan has been pushed into third with $106,500.
Robert Heathcote ( pictured ) is racing away in the 3yo Tallies, increasing his lead by almost $50,000 to $210,150 with Ben Currie on $164,950 to maintain second position over Darryl Hansen who has collected $112,300 in QTIS bonus prizemoney so far this season.
Heathcote had a great May, to be the leading 3yo QTIS trainer for the month, followed by Matt Kropp who collected $15,750, just holding off Alwyn Bailey on $15,550.
Yamazaki (by Real Saga) was the best performing QTIS 2yo runner in May, winning $16,200 in QTIS bonus prizemoney, followed by Falvelon juvenile, Valuate with $14,550. Bank Teller, Bold Sensation, Craiglea Ella, Cyclone Topgirl, Lady McCabe and Spirit's Choice all collected $12,750 to share third spot.
Pennino by Wattle Brae sire, Easy Rocking, remains at the top of the table for the season, with $89,700 in QTIS prizemoney, but former leader, Cyclone Topgirl (Changeintheweather) is creeping back up the ladder, moving from fourth back into second position on $79,950 and pushing Blue Book, with $77,000 down into third.
Ella Divine, by Rothesay led the way for the 3YO QTIS runners in May, winning $25,500 in bonus prizemoney and taking top spot. Eight runners shared second position, winning $12,750 each - Brilee Rose, Foxy Feline, Hidden Goddess, Kopella, Now Ask Me, Okanagan Miss, Sarabah and Spring Creek, while King Dinisty, by Red Dazzler was third with $10,800 in QTIS bonus prizemoney in May.
Their efforts weren't enough to change the Top 10 for the season, with Bat a Kat, ($68,800) Mishani Bullitt ($65,300) and Hang ($56,000) still making up the top three.
