Eureka Stud sire Spirit of Boom has done it again and now has three hot chances for the prestigious January Magic Millions 2YO Classic.
Newcastle colt Jonker ( pictured, Bradley Photos ) is the new favourite for the 2YO Classic (1200m) at the Gold Coast after a destructive win in the the Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1100m) on Thursday.
The Spirit Of Boom colt let down with an explosive finish to win by four and a half lengths, after taking a sit behind leader La Pomme De Pin.
Skyray finished second while Peter and Paul Snowden-trained colt Bondi was third in the lead-up race to the Magic Millions Classic.
Jonker is now the $3.50 favourite for the January event.
Last weekend's impressive winner of the Phelan Ready Stakes at Doomben, Ef Troop, also by Spirit Of Boom, is second favourite at $4.60 after holding top spot at $4.20 before Jonker's Wyong win.
It rounds out an incredible week for Eureka Stud's first season sire, with promising filly Outback Barbie winning the $100,000 Calaway Gal Stakes at Doomben on Saturday, making it a race-to-race double for both Spirit of Boom and trainer Tony Gollan.
