Rockhampton trained, Paradis Imperial won the QTIS Horse of the Year, with trainer, Tony McMahon collecting the award for his fantastic filly.
“We’re honoured to add this title to her list of achievements,” said Tony McMahon, the trainer of Paradis Imperial.
“There’s about ten owners, three of them have never owned a horse before and it’s remarkable to buy her for just $9,000 and have these results.
“But I’m a realist, this may not continue, however if it does I’d love to contest the top 3YO races, or send her to Melbourne next year where she’ll be better weighted.”
The award winners were presented with their trophies at the glamourous Racing Queensland Thoroughbred Awards at Gambaro’s Restaurant in Brisbane last night.
“It was a fantastic night that showcased these tremendous results for Queensland and I look forward to watching our horses, breeders, owners and trainers excel again this season,” said Mr Nolan.
