If there was ever a time to seize an opportunity, this breeding season Dracarys is it!
Dracarys has been producing standout foals with consistent type and athleticism since his arrival at stud in Queensland, impressing everyone.
The first crop of Dracarys impeccably bred foals arrived in 2020, and they are receiving excellent support from leading trainers at the Yearling Sales. Those solid results have seen his yearlings find homes with Australian Bloodstock, Tony Gollan, Chris Munce, Kennewell Racing, Liam Birchley, and Clinton Taylor to name a few. That success in the sales ring is now realizing its potential on the track – Clinton Taylor’s 2YO filly I’m Pinker won the Rockhampton Breeders Plate on debut, and Harch Road dominated his opponents winning his 2YO Maiden by more than 4 lengths.
Trainers and breeders alike are excited about the progeny of this up and coming stallion. “Our Dracarys filly from a half-sister to Niccanova, is the best type-wise of our yearling crop this year. Perfectly correct, elegant and calm” says breeder Steve Tregea.
As the number of Dracarys progeny increases at the track, so will the winning results.
Managing owner Justin Stivano has no doubt that Dracarys rich pedigree sets him apart “It is hard to find a Snitzel in Queensland with the combination of his proven speed at a group level and the depth of pedigree on his damside.” Dracarys’ sire Snitzel, is a four-time champion sire of Australia, while his dam Nocturnelle, is a six-time listed winning mare. Dracarys himself was a $1Million yearling purchase by James Harron going on to win the G3 Up & Coming Stakes at Randwick in race record time.
Dracarys stands in Queensland at Oakwood Farm, Haigslea with a 2023 fee of just $6,600 (GST inc).
